Solid Reflections
Exhibition at The Hanover Gallery, Mayfair, London.

Solid Reflections
“Solid Reflections” solo exhibition at The Hanover Gallery in Mayfair, London is a selection of artworks from the collection "Concrete Matters" - a series of explorations of the material as means of expression.
These artworks are based on the research of intertwining concrete, laser-cut gold mirror, metallic mesh and liquid metals. With the intention to manipulate the meaning of what these materials are intended to use for, and transform them to my own will.
Painting and drawing are an essential part of the creative process, therefore there is always a tension between figuration and abstraction in the work, whilst I focus on investigating space, volume and texture.
Exploring different paint mediums, materials and ways of transforming various elements (pigments, mosaics, metals, fabrics, yarns, organic fibres) leads to changing these elements into artworks to make them look like other materials and constructing new processes for the application and manipulation of these materials. Creating collaboration between my own desires and those of the materials.
These experiments in concrete, mirror and metal are the starting point for the inspiration for the new body of works that I am currently working on - large-scale series of sculptures and artworks that will include architectural manufacturing techniques to execute the pieces.
The artworks installed at the gallery are from the period between 2003 to 2022.
