The determination of science for finding the cure to this pandemic is the inspiration for “Broken Crown”.
There is no doubt that Corona Virus, is something that has affected every single aspect of our life, and “Resolve” is in this case for me “find the cure” of the condition of COVID19.
The shape of the sculpture is a reinterpretation of the particle under the lens of a microscope of how the structure of SARS COV-2 is broken due to the findings of the vaccine. To be cured, we need to “break” the virus particle “Crown” that cause the virus, and “Broken Crown” is the statement that the cure can be found.
The model was developed in 2020 and is made of composite aluminum in gold mirror with spikes proteins made of plastic formations. The sculptured form is a combination of high-tech scientific imaging with playful graphic and simplified forms, an explosive interconnected wonder of life, science, technology, and art.
The enlargement sculpture is planned to be manufactured in polished stainless steel and the spikes formations in casted bronze with patination.
Planed dimensions: 6m x 3m x 150cm and concrete foundation 2.5 x 2.5 m to a depth of 20cm
